THE TRENDALYSE RESEARCH GUIDE
Market research using AI
Market research using AI means using models to help interpret evidence, identify questions, and propose hypotheses you can test with people. Whether you're exploring a product, a service, or a new business idea, this can turn broad interest into a more focused research question.
Trendalyse combines Google Trends search interest fetched through SerpApi with evidence-led DeepSeek Flash hypotheses. It does not invent market statistics. Search research is an early step, not a replacement for customer interviews, competitor research, or purchase-demand validation.
A practical workflow: from a question to a test
1. Define a problem and audience
Start with a question such as: are busy households interested in more convenient food options? Compare “meal prep” and “healthy snacks” rather than treating a broad category as a proven opportunity. These are example research terms, not reported findings.
2. Compare like-for-like search signals
Choose your target region and time range. Trendalyse compares up to five terms together. Check both a recent range and a longer one for seasonality. Google Trends scores are relative interest from 0 to 100 within the selected comparison, not absolute search volumes. A score of 100 is peak relative interest, not 100 buyers.
3. Inspect the evidence before asking AI
Look at rising and top related queries for your first term, review the data table, and export CSV evidence. Record the terms, region, and date range so you can explain the comparison. News, ambiguity, low search volume, and seasonal events can all affect interpretation.
4. Use AI to form a hypothesis, not a verdict
DeepSeek Flash uses high-effort thinking to explore less-obvious connections in the fetched search evidence. Each idea explains its unexpected angle, audience, supporting signal, untested assumption, and failure risk, with a small experiment and proposed pass/fail criteria. Review whether the evidence supports the suggestion. Models can make mistakes; an unconventional idea is not proof of novelty or demand.
5. Validate outside the chart
Talk to people in your target audience about their needs and existing alternatives. Investigate competitors and other ways those needs are met. For a commercial idea, test willingness to pay with a small experiment, sample, or pilot before committing more resources. A rising search curve alone does not establish purchase intent, revenue, market size, or product-market fit.
Common questions
What can AI help with in market research?
AI can help interpret search evidence, suggest audiences, and turn a broad idea into questions for customer discovery. It cannot replace missing customer evidence. Treat suggestions as hypotheses, and check the underlying data and caveats before acting.
Which data and AI providers does Trendalyse use?
Search data comes from Google Trends via your own SerpApi account. AI hypotheses use the operator's DeepSeek Flash connection. Trendalyse is not powered by ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and does not claim their endorsement.
What do I need to start, and what are the limits?
Create an account and connect your SerpApi key in the private dashboard. Your key is encrypted to your account. A fresh exploration can use two SerpApi credits; cached repeats within an hour use no new credits. AI is limited to five attempts per account per UTC day; failed model attempts may count. Your SerpApi plan governs search quota.
Understand the data sources
Read Google's explanation of Google Trends data and normalization and the SerpApi Google Trends API documentation. Research requires your own SerpApi account; see the provider's plans for current quota and pricing.
